7 pilgrims killed in road accident in Moaharashtra

Hoshangabad (MP), Feb 5: Seven people, including three women and three children, were killed on the spot and an equal number seriously injured when a jeep carrying pilgrims to the famous Salkanpur Devi temple dashed against a roadside tree between Itarsi and Hoshangabad this morning, police said.

The victims belonging to Sonaghati village in neighbouring Betul district were heading towards the temple located in Sehore district when the driver lost control and the jeep rammed into the tree.

The injured were being treated at Itarsi hospital, the police added.
