Raj Thackeray's outrage spurt protests in India

New Delhi/ Varanasi, Feb 3, 2008 : Activists of Samajwadi party protested on February 3 condemning the statement of Raj Thackeray for ridiculing the religious practices of people of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.

Raj Thackeray, chief of a Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, the breakaway fraction of Shiv Sena called 'Chhat Puja", the annual festival of Bihar and some parts of Uttar Pradesh as a mere drama. Similar protests were also witnessed in the national capital New Delhi by Shiv Sena activists.
