Tripura Governor appreciates ONGC activities
Agartala, Feb 4 (UNI) Tripura Governor D N Sahaya today waxed eloquent about the Oil Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) officials of Tripura asset for carrying out oil exploration weathering various adversities in the state.
Mr Sahaya recently paid a visit to ONGC, Tripura asset, and urged the officials to scale the ARMCO (1320 UE-II) rig, one of the oldest onshore operating rigs of ONGC.
Mr Sahaya pointed out that since its inception in Tripura in 1962, ONGC had been starting geological activities and had become the largest commercial hub in the state, saying it was currently supplying about 1.5 million cubic metre of gas per day for power generation in the state.
The ARMCO (1320 UE-II) rig was conferred the best rig award on January 26 last. ONGC had already completed the drilling of 30 wells and had been instrumental in three new gas discovery fields here with success ratio of more than 58 per cent, Mr Sahaya informed.
