Sidhi (MP), Feb 4: The Madhya Pradesh police have registered a case of rape and assault against Uttar Pradesh's former Bahujan Samaj Party MP Narendra Kushwaha on a complaint from party's former Sidhi district president.
A case under sections 376, 394 and 364 IPC and sections 3, 1 and 12 of SC and ST Atrocities (Prevention) Act was registered against the former Mirzapur MP, who was expelled from BSP after he was caught in the 'Operation Duryodhan'.
The woman, who had lodged a complaint at the Baithan police station on Saturday, alleged that she was abused for over two years on the promise of marriage. She was also tortured on January 30 and her nephew Kamlesh Ravi's car was forcibly taken away by Kushwaha, the complaint said.
The victim, who was medically examined here, had earlier been removed from BSP for anti-party activities after the last Assembly election.
