Punjabi University men wins All India Inter-Varsity Cycling
Patiala, Feb 4 (UNI) The men cyclists from Punjabi University, Patiala were outstanding as they took the first place in 50 km Road Team Time Trial on the penultimate day of the All India Inter-Varsity Cycling Championship here today at the Punjabi University Velodrome.
The Punjabi University team, comprising Sarpreet Singh, Kamalpreet Singh, Gursharandeep Singh and Sukhwinder Singh, returned a timing of 1:12.40.597 sec to win the gruesome race.
The second place went to Bikaner University, Rajasthan, which consisted of Ram Narain Chowdhary, Sarwan Kumar Bhambhu, Suraj Ram Godara and Amit Ranga, who clocked 1:14.43.737 sec. The third place was taken by Pune University, Pune. Borde Rahul, Prasad Sunil, Jadhav Amit and Azabe Sandeep of Pune team, clocked 1:18.52.142 sec.
In the women's section, Pune University won the first place through Priyanka Desai in 25 km Road Mass start, returning a timing of 51.11.386 sec. KR Panakar of Karnataka University was second, clocking 51.11.388 sec, while Sukhpal Kaur of Punjabi University took the third place with a timing of 51.11.402 sec.
