Prithvi Information solutions get BSNL order worth Rs l309 cr

Mumbai,Feb 4 (UNI) Prithvi Information Solutions Ltd has bagged a Rs 309 Crore order from BSNL for supply of Transmission Equipment that helps increase network bandwidth.

The company, in a release here today, said it had tied up with Chinese telecom major, Huwei Technologies Ltd to source the equipment and was customising it for BSNL. Prithvi would also be responsible for embedding the NMS (Networking Maintenance Software), assembling, quality check, etc. along with the maintenance of the equipment for the next five years.

With its largest domestic order in the sector, Prithvi Info marks its entry into the domestic telecom space. The Company's order book in the telecom space stands at Rs 203 cr as on December 31, 2007 with orders from Companies like T mobile, Singular of Rs 183 cr in US.

With its forte in Radio Frequency engineering space, the Company aimed to expand its service offering with the BSNL order, which would enable the Company to bid for software solutions projects in the Indian telecom space.
