Police catches leopard in south Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 4 (UNI) Police in south Kashmir caught a leopard, who had come down from the forest following heavy snowfall during the past 24 hours.
People at Anchidora in south Kashmir district of Anantnag noticed a leopard in the village. However, police was informed about leopard, who later trapped it before it (leopard) could attack people.
Later, it was handed over to wildlife officials, official sources said.
This is for the first time, any wild animal was caught, before it could harm anybody.
More than two dozen peoples were killed and about 40 others wounded by wild animals in the Kashmir valley during the past one year.
However, in retaliation, people also killed four wild animals in the valley during the same period.
