Over 3600 athletes to take part in state olympics

Mandya, Karnataka, Feb 4 (UNI) The Karnataka Olympics which has seen a record participation of 1600 athletes got off to a colourful start in the sugar town today.

The five-day event will see games like Kho-kho, kabaddi, volleyball, football, net ball, tennis, badminton, teakwondo, boxing and fencing, would be held at different venues.

In Mysore eleven events would be held starting tomorrow. The events include athletics, basketball, cycling, gymnastics, hockey, handball, judo, table tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, archery in which over 2000 sportspersons would take part.
