One killed, 7 injured as underconstruction gate of temple crashes

Panchkula, Feb 4 (UNI) One person was killed and seven others injured when the under construction gate of Mansa Devi Temple here collapsed this evening.

The deceased was identified as Jamna Prasad, a labourer. The injured, few of them seriously, were admitted to a hospital here.

Police and civil authorities have reached the site and launched rescue operation. Three bulldozers were pressed into service to retrieve the trapped victims from the debris of the construction material.

The Deputy Commissioner has ordered an inquiry into the accident.

The inquiry will be conducted by the SDM, who has been asked to submit report within a month.
