NASSCOM to award 8 firms for innovation in IT
Mumbai, Feb 4 (UNI) NASSCOM, premier trade body and the chamber of commerce of the country's IT-ITeS industries, will felicitate eight companies for their outstanding contribution to the domestic IT sector at the forthcoming ''NASSCOM 2008 India Leadership Forum'' to be held here from February 13-15.
The winners -- Comat Technologies, Financial Technologies India, Mango Technologies, MediaLab Asia, Mindtree Consulting, Mistral Solutions, MeritTrac Services and Texas Instruments -- will be presented with the NASSCOM Innovation in IT Awards 2007.
The award aims to honour those companies who have instilled innovation into existing knowledge and have come up with new ideas, products, processes or technologies that enable the business to achieve greater and better margins, a statement said.
''Over the years, the Indian IT industry has made many rapid strides and has now established itself as a mature and credible player in the global IT industry. The next wave of growth for the Indian IT industry will be innovation-led and hence possessing an innovation capability will be necessary for Indian IT firms, regardless of their size,'' said NASSCOM President Som Mittal.
