LIC launches Health Insurance Plan

Ahmedabad, Feb 4 (UNI) LIC introduced its first Long Term Unit Linked Health Insurance Product-LIC's Health Plus' today.

This Plan combines health insurance covers for the entire family (husband, wife and the children), Hospital Cash Benifit and major surgical benifit along with a ULIP component designed to meet domiciliary treatment related expenses for the insured members.

The premium can be paid in yearly and half yearly modes. Monthly mode is available for ECS payment. The maximum cover ceasing age for the plan is 65 years.

One of the unique features of this plan is that the principal insured can withdraw an amount equivalent to the actual expense he or she has incurred in respect of any domiciliary treatment for himself or for the others insured under the policy subject to the fund value in his account.

Hospital cash benefit is a daily benefit payable in case of hospitalization and the minimum and maximum amount can be between Rs 250 to Rs 2500 for the principal insured and the maximum amount for spouse/child is Rs 1500.

In case of hospitalization in ICU the amount payable is double the eligible daily cash benefit.

If the insured undergoes any major operation as described in the plan a lump sum benefit (regardless of the actual cost incurred) will be payable.
