LIC launches health insurance plan

Mumbai, Feb 4 (UNI) State run insurance major, Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has launched its third series of first long term Unit Linked Health Insurance Product- ''LIC Health Plus'' for the entire family including children.

Speaking to mediapersons here today, LIC western zonal manager Mr R R Rai said, ''This plan combines health insurance covers including major surgical benefit alongwith a ULIP component designed to meet domiciliary treatment related for the insuranced members. Hospital cash benefits is a daily payable in case of hospitalization and minimum and maximum amount can be between Rs 250 and Rs 2,500 for the principal insured and the maximum amount for Spouce/child is Rs 1,500.'' ''In case of hospitalization in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) the amount payable is double the eligible daily cash benefit. If the insured undergoes any major operation as described in the plan a lumpsum benefit (regardless of the actual costs incurred) will be payable. The benefit continues even in the event of the unfortunate death of one of the members. In case none of the members are alive, the fund value of the units is payable to the nominee or legal heir (s) of the principal insured,'' he said.
