Jaya Bachchan hits back at Raj Thackeray

Mumbai, Feb 3: Taking on Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's alleged remarks against Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, his wife and Rajya Sabha MP Jaya Bachchan tonight said her family had relations with Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray's family for a long time and other than that she did not know any ''other Thackeray.''

''Our relations with Mr Thackeray's family are very old, and Balasaheb is like a father figure. Other than his family, I don't know any other Thackeray,'' she remarked while reponding to a question on the issue.

When asked why did the MNS chief particularly target her husband, Jaya retorted that ''Raj has bought the Kohinoor Mills land. If he is ready to give us some portion of that land, we are ready to open a school there also.'' Raj had stated that Mr Bachchan's interests were always in Uttar Pradesh and even a school was named after him in that state.
