Collision kills eight in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Feb 4: At least eight people, including a child, were killed and two others grievously injured when their car, dashed against a stationary truck in Saiyan area of Agra today.

The driver of the ill-fated car lost control over the wheels on Agra-Gwalior highway near village Sikandarpur early this morning, police said. While eight passengers died on the spot, others were still battling for life at hospital.

The dead were identified as Rammu, Anjana, Rajesh, Durga Prasad, Rahul, Gaurav, Ram Barosay and chauffeur Mahendra -- all residents of Chachaun area in the Taj City.

The bodies had been sent for autopsy.
