Musharraf to blame if anarchy follows polls: PML-N
Islamabad, Feb 3 (UNI) The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has warned that President Pervez Musharraf would be responsible for anarchy in the country if the February 18 elections were rigged.
PML-N Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq told a news conference here yesterday that all opposition parties had agreed to respond to rigging by agitation and the president would be responsible for it.
He said political parties, which had boycotted the polls, and those, which hadn't, expected massive rigging in the elections. The country was undergoing the worst crisis it had faced so far, and it has been prompted by the policies of Musharraf-led government, he said.
The PML-N leader lashed out at the government for putting Supreme Court Bar Association President Aitzaz Ahsan and other senior lawyers under house arrest once again.
The chairman made it clear that the PML-N doors were open to the deserters, who had neither slandered party leadership nor had caused any damage to the party.
''Our doors are open for everyone willing to re-join us but every case will be considered separately,'' the Daily Times quoted him as saying.
