Fisherfolks demand inclusion in SC list

Udupi,Karnataka, Feb 3 (UNI) The Mogaveera Yuva Sanghtane today wanted the government to include fishing community in Karnataka in the Scheduled Caste (SC) list without further delay.

At a convention here, the Sanghtane leaders strongly advocated for unity among the fishing community to fight for their rights.

They criticised the Karnataka Governor for turning deaf ears to their demands.

Parliamentarian and All India Koll (Kabbaliga) Samaj President Satyanarayana Pawar said the fishing community was economically, socially and educationally backward and their uplift was possible only by including them in the SC list.
