Sugar prices up on reduced stock supply

Navi Mumbai, Feb 2 (UNI) Sugar prices moved up on reduced stock supply in the wholesale spot sugar market today, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.

Sugar prices in small and medium grade edged up by Rs 6 per quintal each on fresh buying support.

Sugar prices in ex-mill small grades increased by Rs 5 per quintal while medium grade declined by Rs 5 per quintal due to sustained heavy selling pressure, traders added.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,410/1,461, Medium grade: Rs 1,461/1,535.

Ex-mill Small grade: Rs 1,390/1,435 and Medium grade: Rs 1,430/1,500.
