State govtg implementing NRGES in a transparent manner
Hyderabad, Feb 2 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Minister for rural Development G Chinna Reddy today said the state Government was implementing the National Rural Employment Guarentee Scheme(NREGS) in a transparent manner providing employment to the rural poor.
Addressing a press conference here he said the scheme was being implemented in districts in the first phase.
He said the state government would implement the scheme in the remaining three districts from April this year.
He said the programme was being run through a specially designed soft ware to make the system accountable and transparent toy minimize corruption and the time taken for various processes.
He claimed that Andhra Pradesh was the only state which established an independent full fledged social audit unit at state level and reports to the government.
He said social audit had been completed in 8929 gram panchayts, covering 471 mandals in 13 districts.
