Singh takes over as SP Jaintia Hills District

Shillong, Feb 2 (UNI) The Meghalaya government has appointed Mukesh K Singh as the new Superintendent of Police Jaintia Hills, even as the Election Commission gave its seal of approval for the same.

Mr Singh, the Additional Superintendent of Police of East Khasi Hills Additional Superintendent of Police, replaced Mr N Kharmalki yesterday.

The Election Commission gave its nod to appoint a new SP in Jaintia Hills to tone up law and order and ensure smooth conduct of the forthcoming polls in the district, official sources said.
