Sauda Chief escapes unhurt during blast in cavalcade
Karnal, Feb 2 (UNI) Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Baba Ram Rahim Singh escaped unhurt but nine members of his cavalcade were injured in an explosion at Manak Majra village, near Nelokheri, on the G T Raod in this district today.
Seven injured were admitted to a Nelokheri hospital while two seriously wounded were brought to a hospital here, police sources said.
The Baba, accompanied by his followers, was returning from Ambala and going to Bhagpat in Uttar Pradesh when apparently some explosives planted in a parked truck exploded.
While Baba's vehicle had safely crossed the blast site, the escort vehicles following him were caught in the explosion injuring nine of his followers.
Agitated Dera followers later squatted on the road and blocked traffic on the highway.
Police reached to the site and cordonned off the area. The Deputy Commissioner and the District police chief have also rushed to the site.
A forensic team from Madhuban has also arrived at the spot.
