Rs 250 cr for ITIs, 18 new Polytechnic Colleges in offering in J
Jammu, Feb 2 (UNI) At least 18 new Polytechnic Colleges will be opened up at district level in Jammu and Kashmir as the state government has decided to utilise Rs 250 crore to upgrade and improve the existing ITIs.
Addressing at a function here last evening, Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma said government was contemplating to set-up 18 new polytechnic colleges at district levels, besides Rs 250 crore would be utilised to upgrade and improve the existing ITIs in the state.
"Present is the age of science and technology and we have to expose our students to quality and job oriented education which is must for making them face the future challenges boldly and bravely,'' he said.
Mr Sharma said government had taken many innovative steps to modernise and strengthen the education sector in the state. Besides setting-up of 40 new degree colleges, five university campuses have been established across the state, he added.
The Minister called upon the student community to seek education and come out with flying colours while graduating in the process of learning.
