Overcast conditions in HP following WD
Shimla, Feb 2 (UNI) Overcast conditions are prevailing across Himachal Pradesh after Western Disturbance (WD) hit the state, which continued to remain in the grip of an intense coldwave.
Shimla town recorded a night temperature at zero degree Celsius as compared to minus point eight degrees recorded yesterday.
The Met office said the night temperature at Sundernagar rose by a few notches to stand at minus point nine degrees, while Bhuntar in Kullu was much colder at minus 1.6 degrees.
Kalpa in Kinnuar district recorded a night temperature of minus 9.8 degrees as compared to minus 10 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday, it said.
Patseio in Lahaul Spiti was the coldest place in the tribal areas of the state at minus 27 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature at Nahan in Sirmaur district stood at 6.3 degrees.
The Met office said overcast conditions are prevailing in the entire state following the presence of a WD, which was expected to bring moderate rain and snow at many places in the state during the next 72 hrs.
Residents of Shimla town were greeted by a bright and a sunny day in the morning but a layer of clouds covered the sky by the noon.
