More policemen to be recruited : Vohra
Barrackpore, Feb 02 (UNI) West Bengal Director General of Police Anup Bhusan Vohra today announced that more policemen would be recruited in the state police force in 2008.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the 42nd West Bengal Police Sports Meet here, Mr Vohra said 4000 policemen were recruited last year to raise an India Reserve Battalion.
The Director General had also called upon the force to ensure that the coming Panchayat election in West Bengal pass off peacefully.
" I believe discipline policemen here could do their job braving all challenges, " Mr Vohra added.
