Freedom fighter Haji Dawood Ali Roshan passes away

Mumbai, Feb 2 (UNI) Freedom fighter and eminent Shia Muslim intellectual Haji Dawood Ali Roshan Nasir passed away today at a private hospital here following prolonged illness.

Nasir was 92 and is survived by two sons and a daughter.

Nasir had actively participated in the Khilafat Movement, which sought freedom from the colonial rule.

He was the president of Khawja Shia Asna Ashri Jamat for a long time and was also the trustee of various Shia mosques in the city.

His last rites were performed here and attended by a large number of people.
