Eva Mendes checks into rehab to tackle 'personal issues'

Washington, Feb 2 : Eva Mendes has checked into a rehab treatment facility to deal with 'personal issues,' the actress' rep has confirmed.

According to recent reports, the Hitch star enrolled herself into the famous Cirque Lodge near Sundance in Utah, for battling a substance abuse problem.

Mendes' publicist Brad Cafarelli has confirmed that the 31-year-old actress is taking time off to sort out "personal issues."

"Eva has been working hard for the past year and made a positive decision to take some much needed time off to proactively attend to some personal issues that, while not critical, she felt deserved some outside professional support," E! Online quoted Cafarelli, as saying.

"Out of respect for Eva's privacy, we do not wish to discuss further details," he added.

The Lodge is one of the most respected treatment facilities in the US and has treated several other stars, including Lindsay Lohan.

Meanwhile the 'Ghost Rider' star has been named the new face of Calvin Klein's new ad campaign.

Mendes has been chosen by the fashion house to endorse their new yet unnamed scent.
