Congress, BJP announce partial candidates list
Kohima, Feb 2 (UNI) The Congress and BJP have announced their partial list of candidates for the March 5 Assembly elections in Nagaland.
The Congress has so far announced 58 candidates in the 60-Member Legislative Assembly, while candidates for remaining two seats are yet to be named.
The BJP has so far announced a list of 13 candidates in their first list and is expected to contest more than thirty seats, according to BJP General Secretary Avinash Koli.
The Nagaland Peoples' Front (NPF), the major alliance partner of the outgoing Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), is yet to release the names of their candidates.
As BJP has announced its first list of candidates and is a partner of the DAN alliance, it seems the DAN partners will fight the elections individually.
Meanwhile, RJD Nagaland unit chief T N Mannen said the party will not make any pre-poll alliance.
