Women campaign against liquor in Bihar

Patna, Jan 30, 2008 : Women took to the streets in Patna, in Bihar on January 30 to demand stringent anti-liquor laws in the state.

The protest was held while the country observed the 60th anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi who strongly campaigned for prohibition of liquor while fighting for the country"s freedom from British rule. The women carrying placards, banners, liquor bottles and pouches took to streets shouting anti-liquor slogans breaking bottles.
