Veteran journalist Russi Karanjia passes away
Mumbai Feb 1 (UNI) Veteran journalist and former editor of the now defunct tabloid, Blitz, Russi Karanjia, passed away here this afternoon at his residence, family sources said.
He was 95. Russi Karanjia, brother of noted film journalist B K Karanjia, is survived by his daughter Rita Mehta.
The last rites will be held at Chandanvadi tomorrow morning, the sources added.
Born on September 15, 1912, Russi Karanjia was one of the firebrand editors in Indian Journalism.
He was an assistant editor with The Times of India before he left it in the 1940s to launch Blitz.
