UP mafia don Brijesh Singh's partner arrested

Bhubaneswar, Feb 1 (UNI) Acting on a tip off from its Uttar Pradesh counterparts, the Orissa Police today arrested one Pramod Khatri, who was associated with the real estate business of UP mafia don and criminal Brijesh Singh.

Brijesh alias Arun Singh, who was keeping a low profile in the state capital for last three years, was arrested by a Special Cell of Delhi Police on January 23 last while coming out from a shopping mall.

He was interrogated and produced before the local court here on January 24 which handed over him to Delhi Police to take him on a 14 day transit to Delhi for further interrogation.

Ever since Brijesh was arrested, the Delhi and Orissa Police were in search for one of his relative Pawan Singh who, however, managed to flee from the state capital soon after the arrest of the dreaded mafia don.

Recently a police team from Uttar Pradesh arrived here to probe into the various links of Brijesh and informed the Orissa Police about Pramod Khatri who was a partner in the Vindyachal Real Estate Developer Private limited floated by Brijesh.

The police during the raid of an apartment where Brijesh was staying, seized huge cash, gun, passport and other documents. Later they recovered the driving license of Brijesh which had the Rourkela address of Khatri.

Police said Khatri was arrested from his residence in the Airfield Police Station area and interrogated about his links with Brijesh. He is likely to be produced before the local court here tomorrow.
