TN Assembly adjourned sine die

Chennai, Feb 1 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Assembly, which met on January 23 for the Governor's address, today adjourned sine die after adopting a motion of thanks to the Governor's address.

The week-long session ended on a stormy note when pandemonium broke out after Leader of the Opposition J Jayalalithaa made some disparaging remarks against the Ministers.

It also adopted a resolution, thanking Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Union Human Resources Minister Arjun Singh for setting up the Central Institute of Classical Tamil.

The House is likely to meet during the first week of March for the presentation of budget for the year 2008-09.
