Thackeray should apologise for chhat parva remark: Cong

New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) The Congress today demanded a public apology from Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray for making a statement that he would not allow the celebration of 'chhat parva' in Maharashtra.

Mr Thackeray's remark was ''condemnable'' and he should apologise for that, AICC spokesman Shakeel Ahmed told reporters.

The Shiv Sena leader had hurt the sentiments of those from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and this was not allowed, he said.
