Sheila hails Centre's step on halting demolition
New Delhi, Feb 1 (UNI) Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today welcomed the Centre's move to halt all demolitions until this year-end, terming it a ''big relief'' for the people of Delhi.
Talking to UNI, the CM said, ''I am very happy with the news as this will give enough breathing space for regularisation.'' The decision was a reaffirmation of the Supreme Court's order suspending sealing of all unauthorised construction till December 31, 2008, she said.
Calling the central government's step as ''great news'', Ms Dikshit said they hope that the people get the relief they were looking for.
On BJP assertion that it was a piecemeal step and not a permanent solution to the problems of the people of Delhi, the CM said the BJP had to oppose everything.'' UNI AN VD AS1908
