Rice meant for public distribution seized from trader
Mysore, Feb 1(UNI) The officials of the Food and Civil Supplies department have raided a rice mill and seized Rice and Wheat worth of over Rs 3 lakh, meant for public distribution near Bannur town in the district.
The police informed that the food grains earmarked for public distribution was stored in the rice mill for smuggling into neighbouring district. As many as 240 bags of Rice and 11 bags of wheat was seized from the rice mill.
Nobody was arrested into the case as persons manned in the rice mill were fled from the scene after the arrival of the raid party, the sources added.
