Prez emphasises on efficient clearance of projects
Bangalore, Feb 1 (UNI) President Pratibha Devsingh Patil today emphasised the need for expeditious clearance of projects and schemes.
''Special care has to be taken of benefit oriented schemes, covering Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes'', she added.
Speaking at a review meeting held with the Governor of Karnataka, his advisers and Chief Secretary here, she said the infrastructure projects were to be taken up efficiently.
She called upon the officials to ensure law and order maintenance and draw attention towards handling extremism and Naxal menace effectively.
Referring to the developmental schemes, the President advised the administration to follow up all Central sector schemes immediately.
Ms Patil said the President's rule in the State should bring a qualitative change in administration.
The participation by local bodies and local people would help in the effective implementation of benefit oriented programmes, she opined.
