Planters to picket Coffee Board on loan waiver
Madikeri,Karnataka, Feb 1 (UNI) Planters from Somwarpet Taluk have decided to picket the Coffee Board Office at Bangalore on February 6 and 7 demanding crop loan waiver.
Holding a meeting at Shanivarsanthe today, Planters' Association President Nagappa said they would hold a protest before the Coffee Board in support of the demand.
Thousands of planters from the taluk will take part in the protest, he claimed adding they had also decided to invite planters from all the villages to join the agitation.
The Association members paid a surprise visit to all coffee buyers at Shanivarsanthe and inspected the weighing scales and found them practising unethical methods.
