One killed in accident, suicide by another 6 shops gutted in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 1 (UNI) One person committed suicide, another was killed in a road accident and two others were injured, while six shops were gutted in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.
They said Harbajan Lal a driver committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan at Manigam early this morning.
It was, however, not immediately known why he took this extreme step.
They also said two persons were injured critically when a Maruti car hit them at Muran chowk, Pulwama in south Kashmir. The injured were admitted to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Soura where one Firdous Ahmad died.
Six shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Zaloora, Sopore, in Baramulla district early this morning. The cause of the fire was not known, they said.
Fire broke out at Skara near Public School at Leh in a saw-mill causing extensive damage to it. However, no loss of life or injury to anyone was reported in the incident.
