Life term for eight convicts in murder case

Krishnanagar, Nadia, Feb 1 (UNI) Eight people were today sentenced to life by a local court here in a 1998 murder case.

Fast Track Court Judge Parthasarathy Das handed down the life term to eight people, including four siblings of a family, for injuring and killing their neighbour Nirmal Mondol (26), a resident of Jaighat village under Krishnanagar police station.

The killers beat the youth mercilessly and left him grievously injured on August 15,1998. The injured youth died the follwing day at a local hospital, the prosecutors said.

The court also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on each failing which the term would extend for another six months.
