Lab tests confirm no bird flu in Haryana

Bhiwani, Feb 1 (UNI) The samples of birds sent to the laboratory in Jalandhar from a poultry farm at Jatai village in Bhiwani districts for test of avian influenza virus were found negative.

Addressing a media conference here today Deputy Commissioner T L Satyaprakash said that the matter regarding cases of bird flu in a broiler farm at Jatai was taken seriously and poultry farms in the district were examined by the experts of Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. So far, no bird had been tested positive for bird flu in the district, he added.

The Deputy Commissioner informed that all precautionary measures have been taken to keep the disease at bay.
