Four of a family die in accident

Gurdaspur, Feb 1 (UNI) Four members of a family died today when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a truck near Ghasitpur village in this district.

The police sources said the accident occurred when Captain Gurdeep Singh, resident of Bhulechak, along with four of his family members was on way to Amritsar airport to see off his son Manmohan Pal Singh and daughter-in-law Dimple to Germany.

On the way near Ghasitpur village, a buffalo suddenly came in front of their car due to which sudden brake had to be applied.

However, the driver of a trolley truck coming from behind could not stop the vehicle and rammed into the car.

In the accident Captain Singh, his two sons, Manjinder (32) and Manmohan (30), his daughter-in-law Dimple (24) died on the spot while his wife Kuldeep Kaur was critically injured.

Kuldeep Kaur has been admitted in the hospital in serious condition.

The police has sent the dead bodies for the postmortem.
