Ex-SP MP Atiq Ahmed arrested in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 01 : Delhi Police has arrested the expelled Samajwad Party Member of Parliament (MP) Atiq Ahmed here today.

Ahmed was wanted in more than dozen criminal cases including murder case of Raju Pal, a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA). The Allahabad local court had declared him absconding as he was on run for the last six months. Uttar Pradesh police has issued a non-bailable warrant against him and a reward of Rs 20,000 was put on him.

Ahmed was MP from Phoolpur constituency of Allahabad District.
