DMK men conduct free marriages on Azhagiri's birthday
Madurai, Feb 1 (UNI) The Madurai district unit of the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) today performed free mass marriages to 57 poor couples to mark the 57th birthday of Mr M K Azhagiri, the city-based elder son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK Patriarch M Karunanidhi, here.
At a specially erected Pandal at the historic Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal temple ground in Tallakulam, Mr Azhagiri performed the mass marriages in the presence of senior DMK leaders and people from all walks of life.
The mass marriages were arranged free of cost and the couples were presented with household articles and other gifts.
