CBI team raids residence of NDA lecturer
Pune, Feb 1 (UNI) A three-member CBI team today carried out a day-long raid at the residence of a lecturer in the National Defence Academy (NDA) campus, in an alleged disproportionate assets case, involving an amount of Rs seven crore.
The CBI carried out the raid on a complaint registered by one of the NDA officers, who gathered information from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) using the Right to Information Act, 2005, and informed about the manipulation and accumulation of property worth crores of rupees, more than known sources of income.
According to NDA sources, the lecturer is Head of Department (Political Science) at the NDA. His wife is the Principal of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ganeshkhind Road.
Sources said the Central Vigilance Commission, after receiving the complaint, directed the state CBI to prima facie investigate the matter relating to the unaccounted wealth, in terms of properties at various places in the city.
One of the Inspectors, who led the three-member CBI team, however, did not reveal whether any documents were seized.
