Cases filed against former minister on autobiography issue
Mysore, Feb 1 (UNI) Two cases were filed against Congress leader and former minister H Vishwanath, who had allegedly used derogatory remarks against cobblers community in his recently released controversial autobiography 'Halli Hakkiya Haadu' here today.
Taking strong exception to the comments about cobblers, the Chammara Community protested against Mr Vishwanath and filed a case, accusing that it had caused insult to the community.
The District Convenor of the Karnataka Dalitha Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) Yedathale Ningaraju, who filed the case against Mr Vishwanath, had lodged a complaint in a city police station.
Police also received another complaint against Mr Vishwanath from Chammara Vedike president Narayanappa on the issue.
The release of the autobiography had created a controversy over the remark on the Maharashtra Governor and former Chief Minister S M Krishna on his alleged relationship with cine actress B Saroja Devi five decades ago. The supporters of Mr Krishna had protested against the release of the book here recently.
