The District Convenor of the Karnataka Dalitha Sangharsha Samithi (DSS) Yedathale Ningaraju, who filed the case against Mr Vishwanath, had lodged a complaint in a city police station.

Police also received another complaint against Mr Vishwanath from Chammara Vedike president Narayanappa on the issue.

The release of the autobiography had created a controversy over the remark on the Maharashtra Governor and former Chief Minister S M Krishna on his alleged relationship with cine actress B Saroja Devi five decades ago.
