Azadi Express to reach Vijayawada on Feb 7
Vijayawada, Feb 1 (UNI) The Azadi Express, touring the entire country on the occasion of completion of 150 years of the first war of independence, would reach here on February 7, Vijayawada Divisional Railway Manager S K Sharma said today.
Addressing newspersons here, he said the train, which started its journey from New Delhi on September 28, 2007, would be open for public viewing for three days before leaving for Rajahmundry on February 9.
The train, which will cover all states and important cities before reaching its last leg at Delhi on May 11, this year, showcases 'photos and artefacts from an era when our country was one of the richest nations of the world to the freedom struggle to a time when we were reduced to abject poverty, and to the present-day India,'' he said.
The eleven coaches of the train have different names, he added.
