Snowfall helps boost up apple yield in Kashmir

Kashmir, Jan 31, 2008 : Apple growers in India's northern Kashmir are an ecstatic lot following abundant snowfall, as it would help boost their harvest yield.

Snow is considered a good sign for apple growers inhabiting the upper reaches of Kashmir, as it benefits the horticulture sector. Kashmiri apples are known worldwide for their superb flavor. The main varieties of commercially grown apples in India are Royal Delicious, Rich-A-Red, Red Delicious and Golden Delicious.
