NLC commissions special mining equipment
Neyveli, Tamil Nadu, Jan 31 (UNI) Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) Chairman S Jayaraman commissioned two specialised mining equipment valued at Rs 142 crore, yesterday at the SME Erection Yard at Mandarakuppam.
A press release here said the Rs 100-crore bucket wheel excavator would excavate about 5,500 cubic metre of loose overburden in an hour. In Neyveli Mines, it can remove about 2,250 cubic metre. The equipment had been designed and erected by L&T.
The Rs 42-crore Tripper Car designed and erected by Thysenkrupp Industries India Pvt Ltd would assist the Spreader used for spreading the overburden at the dumping yard.
The Tripper Car can handle 20,000 tonne of overburden an hour and in Neyveli Mines, it can handle 4,500 cubic metre of overburden.
