Kalam to open multi-complex at St Teresa's College
Kochi, Jan 31 (UNI) Former president A P J Abdul Kalam will inaugurate a 13,000 sq ft multi-complex at the St Teresa's College here on February 3.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, College Principal Sister Christabelle said the complex, St Teresa's Elysium, was conceived as part of the platinum jubilee year in 2000.
She said the complex, built at a cost of Rs two crore, would have an auditorium and a mini-auditorium which could seat around 1,500 and 700 people respectively. It would also have a air-conditioned conference hall, audio-visual room, research consultation centre and classrooms.
The college believes in the education and empowerment of women and to further this purpose, two projects--a women's studies centre and a multi-complex were conceived in the platinum year 2000, and the Centre was established in 2002, she said.
