Karnal, Jan 31 (UNI) A Haryana Police is on a look out for an Inspector recently posted here from Yamunanagar district for his alleged links with a notorious inter-state gang nabbed recently here.

A police party that came to arrest Inspector Randhir Singh here today returned empty-handed to Yamunanagar as he could not be traced, Yamunanagar SSP Dr C S Rao told UNI over phone here.

Dharamvir, recently promoted as Inspector had joined duty here on January 21 and went on a day's leave on January 26. He has been absenting himself from duty since then.

In Yamunanagar, posted as SHO of a 'thana', Dharamvir used to frequently meet the members of the gang including Manjesh and Rakesh Tyagi, who were recently nabbed after commiting a major dacoity from a local plywood businessman.

Confirming his involvement in the dacoity, Mr Rao told UNI that the accused Inspector had helped the gang in converting the smaller denomination of the currency looted to larger denomination and had accompanied then out of the state after the dacoity.

Police sources said he was even suspected to be the real 'kingpin' of the gang and much details of other loots were expected from him once he was nabbed.

Meanwhile, three Haryana cops were suspended today after the inter-state criminal gang's leader Manjesh, alias Monu, escaped from police custody last night.
