Garib Rath to be flagged off tomorrow
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 31 (UNI) The first Garib Rath bi-weekly express between Kochuveli and Lokmanya Tilak Terminal at Kurla, Mumbai will be flagged off by Union Minister of State for Railways R Velu tomorrow.
The regular service of the Garib Rath would commence from February four from Lokmanya Tilak and from Kochiveli on February seven, Kerala Law Minister, in charge of Railways M Vijayakumar told reporters here.
The Garib Rath would depart from Kochuveli on Thursdays and Sundays at 0850 hrs and on Fridays and Mondays, it would depart from Lokmanya Tilak at 1630 hrs, said Additional Divisional Railway Manager Sulthan Mushathicka.
He said the express would have 14 coaches, including three AC chair cars and 11 three-tier AC coaches.
The train would run via Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Shornur, Kanganadi, Madgaon and Panvel.
Mr Vijayakumar said all the projects which were included in the last Railway Budget were progressing. The doubling and electrification work was going in full swing, he added.
