Fresh cases of gastroenteritis reported in Bangalore
Bangalore, Jan 31 (UNI) At least 43 fresh cases of gastroenteritis were reported today from Bharatinagar in the city, taking the total number of affected people by water contamination to 655.
Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) sources said the officials were presently engaged in door-to-door campaigns and distributing medicines including oral drugs, to check the spread of gastroenteritis in the most affected areas like Shivaji Nagar, Bharati Nagar and Neelasandra.
They said they had also set up help desks in several hospitals to help the people following the threat of an outbreak of Cholera.
The officials have already confirmed 16 cases of Cholera during the past one week. All the victims were undergoing treatment in Government Hospitals. No fresh case of cholera was reported today, the sources said.
